For decades, Wisconsin Dells<\/a> was pretty much a summer-only destination. This was the era before indoor waterparks became a phenomenon, attracting winter tourists in droves. <\/span><\/p>\n

Today tourists come to the Dells year-round. And while summer is still the busiest season, March is actually the single biggest month when it comes to tourists.<\/span><\/p>\n

What’s the Dells’ Draw in Winter?<\/h2>\n

Obviously, the indoor waterparks attract many visitors longing for some warmth and fun in the water. But there are loads more activities available. There are three state parks within 20 minutes of the Dells, which together offer winter hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, geocaching and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many Dells attractions remain open during the winter, such as Knuckleheads<\/a>, an indoor amusement and trampoline park.
