This morning I drove to Hell’s Hollow (love that name!) and met Carol, who shuttled me back to Edward’s Family Farm. She had Jo Ellen with her – another NCT enthusiast – and they gave me a goodie bag with NCT stickers, a Wampun Chapter t-shirt and more. How kind!
I’d planned to camp at Edward’s Family Farm last night, but bailed because of the weather and stayed another night with Karen instead. Good call. I couldn’t even find the spot where I would/should have camped when I started hiking.

Heading Toward Hell’s Hollow
Today was a great hike filled with lots of trail miles and not too many miles of roads. The wildflowers continue to be in full bloom, which is wonderful. Yes, there were muddy spots due to all of the rain. And yes, there were overgrown spots because the volunteers haven’t been able to mow/maintain yet, due to
the rain and storms. But it was a lovely day.
Tonight I’m staying at Rose Point Park. I’d reserved a camping spot, but now rain is predicted overnight and into the morning, so I upgraded to a yurt. It’s super clean and has a fridge, microwave, shower, etc. It’s perfect!

My most useful gear today: My Permethrin spray. I’ve only had one tick on me so far, but you have to be so cautious at this time of year.
