Waterfall on hiking trail.
Had a great night at trail angel Karen’s home. What a great trail angel and host!

We left in the morning to shuttle between Edward’s Family Farm, where I was supposed to camp tonight, and Watt’s Mill. Due to all of the rain, Karen graciously allowed me to stay at her place again tonight. No rain was forecast today, although as we drove to Edward’s it was misting rather heavily. Uh oh.

Heading Toward Edward’s Family Farm

Luckily my worries were unfounded. By the time I started hiking  northbound from Watt’s Mill, the weather was fine, albeit cloudy. The trail was lovely. A few steep climbs, but more often gentle rollers. At one point, I crossed a bridge that notified me the eastern terminus in Vermont was  just 1,051 miles away.Bridge on hiking trail

I lunched in Darlington, where I got a little chilled. It was still gray and cloudy, with some wind. I now had a road walk, and warmed up during it. The remainder of the day was another stretch of trail, then a road walk to my car. The trail was fun, as it contained lots of bridges, all of which were designed differently.

Tonight, back at Karen’s, her friend Earl brought us Steubenville pizza. Yum!
