Today’s trek to Boch Hollow State Nature Preserve was pretty nice! Since we decided to shorten our days due to the hills, we slept in a bit and hit the trail by 9:30 a.m.
First up was a road walk from the Park and Ride through a portion of Enterprise. Heading out of town we segued onto a long, gravel road. Eventually we popped into the woods.

Heading to Boch Hollow
This first stretch of trail began well, as it was relatively flat, if a bit overgrown. But soon we hit a large blow-down area, with trees downed everywhere. Some were a little difficult to climb over or around, so our pace slowed. A little before noon, we got back on the roads.
The afternoon was a mix of road walks, including right past the cabin we’re renting, and, at the end, more trail. Our last mile of the day wound through the Boch Hollow State Nature Preserve. The path here was well maintained, although hilly.
Winding Down
We were back at the cabin before 4 p.m., which was amazing. We’re doing laundry now and will soon take a dip in the hot tub. Then we’ll be grilling some brats and chicken for dinner.
Tomorrow was supposed to be a zero day, but we’ll likely hike a few miles to bring us back on track with our itinerary. The hills are more difficult than I’d planned for!
